More or Less GameDirectory

About

More or Less Game is an independent directory of comparison games — the genre where you are shown two things and asked which one is bigger, more popular, more expensive or more recent. It goes by several names: more or less, higher or lower, over or under, bigger or smaller.

Why this exists

There are hundreds of these games, and almost no way to tell them apart before playing. The one thing that separates a good one from a frustrating one is invisible from the outside: how old its data is. A game asking which term gets Googled more, running on figures captured in 2017, is a different game from one querying live numbers — but both look identical on the landing page.

So this directory records, for every entry, where the numbers come from, what date the developer says they were refreshed, and when a person here last opened the game and confirmed it works.

What we do and do not do

  • Every listing is played before it is published. No exceptions, no automated imports.
  • Screenshots are taken by us, from the live game, and dated.
  • Listings are not for sale. If a placement is ever sponsored it will be labelled as such and its links will carry the appropriate attributes.
  • We do not publish player counts, trending badges or "most played" rankings until we have real data of our own to base them on.
  • We do not copy a developer's own description and present it as a review.

Our own games

We also build a small number of comparison games ourselves. They are listed underPlay, and held to the same standard we apply to everyone else: the data source and its date are printed on the page.

Independence

Independent directory. Not affiliated with the games listed.

Game names, logos and screenshots belong to their respective developers, and appear here to identify the games under review. Every listing links to the developer's own site. If you are a developer and something on your listing is wrong, tell us — corrections are free and fast, and we will not ask for anything in return.
